As I’m looking at him, he turns to face me, and I can see the arousal in his eyes. He casually licks his lips and shoves his hands into the pockets of his jeans. I smile and turn back to face the front of the elevator. I have him right where I want him.
When the elevator descends to the first floor, I’m smacked in the face with the gravity of my reality. Danny is waiting for the doors to open, with a huge smile on his face. Glancing back to Skylar, I see that he’s been smacked just as hard. Skylar’s Adam’s apple bobs in his throat, like he’s trying to
swallow his feelings, and moves past me toward Danny.

Needless to say after I finished Mirage I was left completely shocked and wanted to know what was going to happen. Finally, after what seemed to be forever. I cannot going into detail without giving away Mirage if you haven't read it, but what I can tell you is...Awakening is a 5 heart read! You get a little but of everything in this book. You get some laughs, in my case some tears, and heartache.

I have been impatiently and eagerly waiting for this book. The end of Mirage, book 1, left me in completely and utter shock. I had to know who Mira was going to pick. If you are like me, Team Skylar, you hoped for that choice, but I could see Ashley Suzanne going either way with this story. She loves to play the mind game and keep you on your toes and let me just say...she absolutely does. Awakening has a little of everything...humor, friendship, love and heartache.
In Awakening we get to see how much Mira has changed since the accident and see how much she struggles with the ultimate choice we all want answers too; Danny or Skylar. We all know in the end someone is going to be heartbroken. Mira's head and heart were telling her two different things. With Danny, she wouldn't have to worry about her future, but he would never truly have her whole heart. With Skylar, there would be more passion and love than she has ever felt, but her future would be unpredictable. Would they even be able to move on together without there be any guilt? Does she make the smart decision or the passionate decision? She loves both men, but in different ways. This pulled on my emotions and my heart hurt for her. I've been there it's never an easy decision to make, but in the end you live with that choice and move on. Mira doesn't want to lose the friendships no matter what happens.
Mira's "dreams" felt so real and at points it was hard to make herself realize none of happened. I love when she has to explain where she goes in her head every time she has a déjà vu moment. Sometimes its heated and sometimes it heartbreaking. Danny does his best to be the supportive fiancé and give her space and help her understand and work through her emotions. I have to admit I wasn't a fan of his after reading Inception, but I grew to love in Awakening.
Skylar does what he thinks is best and stays away from both of them. He knows he would never be able to have Mira because she is Danny's and he has to live with that. He just doesn't want to have it shoved in his face every day.
Kylee is the still ever faithful best friend that we know and love. She supports Mira through everything, but doesn't bite her tongue. I mean that is what best friends do right?
The ending will once again shock you, but I expect nothing less from Ashley Suzanne. This is one of my all time favorite series. Emotional rollercoaster that will leave you begging for more.

After reading Mirage and being left with that huge cliffhanger ending I couldn’t even begin to guess what Ashley Suzanne had in store for us with Awakening. Once again she doesn’t disappoint Awakening is a fantastic book that will take you on another emotional roller coaster. I went from laughing to crying and every other emotion in between. It is an amazing book about love, friendships and following your heart.
Awakening starts exactly where Mirage left off with the big question of who is Mira going to choose? Will it be Danny or Skylar? Who is the one that truly holds her heart? Ashley Suzanne had me guessing who it was going to be up to the very end of the book. Mira goes through a lot trying to figure out what her true feelings for each one is and who is the right choice for her. She doesn’t want to hurt anybody but it’s going to happen. Danny is her first love, her future husband and who she wanted to spend her life with. Skylar is her best friend the one who was there for her in her dreams, she feels something with him that she never felt with Danny. How do you decide who you want to be with, which feelings are the right ones? Mira doesn’t want to lose any friendships and she doesn’t want to be the one to come between Danny and Skylar’s friendship. With trying to figure out what is real and what is a dream Mira still has her best friend Kylee that she can go to. Kylee is there for her when she needs her the most.
Ashley Suzanne is an incredible author who takes her readers on a journey that will keep you thinking about what you read for days. She loves to play mind games and keep you guessing what is going to happen next. This series is one of my favorites and I will be impatiently waiting for more amazing books from this author.
