“Baby, remember that project that I'm working
on with my dad? In Hong Kong? I have to be there for about two months. I plan
to fly back on weekends.”
She tries to remain impassive but her tone
doesn’t hide the concern in her voice. “Okay. Hold on. I'll work with Penny on
the events—I'm not worried, I can wear one or two of the gowns I just picked up
this week and Penny will let me know whether it’s local or international. Let's talk about that more when we get home.”
She sighs and reaches for my hand as she continues, “Flying home every weekend
is not only too risky to me, but more importantly, I might not make it being
that far away from you for that long.” She puts on a pout and leans over to
kiss me.
My wife has become quite an expert at
representing the right image on these occasions. International means she wears
clothes made by a local designer. Local means she can wear whatever she fancies
from the fashion houses in Europe.
“Too risky? As in accident risky? Contracting a
contagious disease risky? What?” I ask lightly.
“Too hard to explain. Please just let me plan
this out.”
“I love this new you. The ‘I can't live without
Alex’ you.” I nibble on her ear as I
lower her down on the seat against the wall of the booth. She moans and opens
up her legs as I snake my hand up her dress. “Oh God. Here we go again. Isa,
seriously? Why do you even bother to wear one?” My fingers skim across her
barely-there thong underwear that give me complete access to her smooth, silky
skin. And everything else inside it.
“I thought I'd make it easy for you all night,”
she says, her voice low and sensual.
I'm told public loving isn't such a big deal here.”

Tabby's Review
**If you have not read The Light in the Wound, do not read any further. This review will contain spoilers that will ruin the first novel for you So, turn around and grab your copy of The Light in the Wound!**
His Wounded Light is the sequel to The Light in the Wound by the fabulous Christine Brae. She certainly does not disappoint with this sequel. His Wounded Light is told in Isa, Alex and Jesse’s point of views. I connected easily with the characters, allowing each one to tug at my heart strings. His Wounded Light took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. I experienced happiness, laughing every time they felt joy, then plummeted to the depths of despair, as I wiped away relentless tears, crying along with the heartache of the characters. The outcome of events was completely unexpected, and left me in awe.
I am beyond thrilled that Christine decided to write His Wounded Light, because I was filled of questions. I wanted Jesse to have closure and I wanted Alex to know for sure that Isa was his fully. I thought it would have been impossible for Christine to out do The Light in the Wound, but she proved me wrong...way wrong.
First of all the prologue like The Light in the Wound shocked the hell out of me! I was left wondering what the hell happened, and what changed since we last left Isa, Alex and Jesse. Christine has this power to draw you in a leave you wanting more just by her prologues, because you know there are so many more jaw-dropping, tear inducing, ugly cry moments to come.
I am not going to go into details because you will not see some of the twists in this plot, and you need to go in without knowing what is going to hit you. In the end I can tell you His Wounded Light is a must read, and the perfect ending to the story of Isa, Alex and Jesse. Saying goodbye is bittersweet, because I don't want to say goodbye. Christine Brae completely blew me away and provided us with a perfect ending.
Sheena's Review
I loved this sequel to The Light In The Wound. I wanted to know how Isa and Alex's marriage carried on, how did Jesse get on after Isa left, what happened next basically and that is what we got.
There is so much emotion in this book, so much heartache, some of it I related to myself so I could put myself in the person's shoes, I could understand how they were feeling as I felt the same way.
This book opens up emotions and feelings that a lot of people will have dormant inside them, another book that so many people can relate to in everyday life.
There is such a struggle in Isa's life in this book and at times I found hard to read because you felt for her so much and the pain, the same with Alex, my heart just broke at times during this book.
Jesse well, he is typical Jesse but you couldn't have the book without him.
I think reading this book you could tell that Isa wanted closure and she got it.
I gave it 5 starts because it relates to so much in so many people lives and also because of the raw emotion in this book.

Christine Brae is a full time career woman who thought she could write a book about her life and then run away as far as possible from it. She never imagined that her words would touch the hearts of so many women with the same story to tell. This is her second and final book in the Light in the Wound series. Her third book is scheduled to come out in late 2014.
When not listening to the voices in her head or spending late nights at the office, Christine can be seen shopping for shoes and purses, running a half marathon or spending time with her husband and three children in Chicago
