The vast repercussions from that horrific night threaten to destroy her stability and her chances for a happily ever after. Kyle Finnegan comes into Carly’s life at the height of her turmoil. Can he help her find what she desires most?
Tabitha Fletcher, on the other hand, has suffered from a very young age. She has been hiding from her past, which was full of abuse, loss and turmoil. She has been so brutally damaged that she has very little hope of redemption. The revolving door of men only leads her deeper into misery.
What circumstance brings these two women together unexpectedly and can they help each other heal? And will they each find what they need?

Tabby's Review
Wow! That about sums up my thoughts about Dear Emily. I never imagined being able to get close to two women. My heart broke for both Carly and Tabitha, needless to say they went through some very traumatic events in their lives, that caused them to shy away from close personal relationships and physical contact. I having been through some of what they have went through, I could feel their pain, I cried their tears. I was once to a victim, but like them being a victim does not define me, it does not make me who I am...I am a survivor, as are Tabby and Carly.

Two lives, from two different worlds collide all because of a baby girl who hasn't been born yet, and in her own little way she heals both of them in different ways. Tabby knows that she cannot keep Emily, so picked Carly and her husband Kyle to adopt her since they cannot have children on their own. Tabby has been through so much and feels that Emily deserves more than she can give her, she deserves happiness, and she knew from the moment she saw Carly and Kyle's photo that they were Emily's forever family.

Carly too has been through a great deal of pain in her life that effected her ability to have children of her own, but she didn't let that stop her. She tried multiple times to have a biological child but unfortunately did not happen, so her and Kyle looked into adoption.

I absolutely loved all the main characters in this book. Tabby was so real, to the point that I sobbed when she did. She loved Emily so much, yet she knew she couldn't give her the life she deserved, but still she loved her and it tore her heart apart to give her up. I cried so hard during the labor scene, my heart broke for her, because as a mother I could not imagine giving away a baby I carried for nine months, it would devastate me just like it did Carly. Carly and Kyle just melted my heart, she met her knight in shinning armor and together with Tabby's help found their happily ever after.

Notice I did not put Tabby got a happily ever after. Well, that is because she hasn't not yet at least. The booked ended with Tabby getting a huge surprise that I did not see coming, and I am dying to find out what is going to happen. I applaud Trudy for giving us something different. Dear Emily is not your typical romance, the storyline was unique, and it kept me wanting more! Now to patiently wait for the second book in the Forever Family Series to be released to find out what happens. Until I am impatiently waiting.
