Jessica's Review:
I started
reading Gentling the Cowboy with one mind
set and expectation and finished it with mixed feelings. When I heard about
this book I was very excited to find a Cowboy. What I didn't expect was a HOT,
steamy, funny and kind of romantic book in its own way. It has everything
anyone could want.
Tony is a very
private man who lives far out of town where his past can't get to him. He is a
true Texas cowboy, great sex appeal but a complete ass until the end. You can
tell he has a good heart, but his past just won't let him go and enjoy life.
When he meets Sarah he knows having her there can only lead to trouble, but one
look at her and her notebook and he can't let her go anywhere.
"Nothing
in his life had prepared him for the whirlwind of his little blonde
intruder" - Tony
Sarah is an
aspiring writer, at least that's what she tells herself, but she can't think of
anything to write. When the opportunity to go visit a friend in Texas comes,
she loads up her horse and heads down. This is the adventure she needs. The
adventure that will inspire her and awaken the writer inside. Little does she
know she will end up in a strangers house instead of her friends...a day's
drive away.
"It's time
to stop thinking about why I'm not living the life I want and just live
it" - Sarah
Sarah and
Tony's relationship is strictly research for Sarah and a means to an end for
Tony. She is only there until he gets his fill of her. This is where my
feelings about the book are mixed. I LOVED reading their story and watching
them both conquer fears. I'm not a fan of reading what seemed to be the same
sex scene over and over. I know many people who will love this book as a whole,
but me personally I could take it or leave it with the sex.
There is
friendship, love, heart ache and realities faced. I grew to love Tony and his
blunt remarks.
