Wait, what just happened?! That can't be what I just read.
Yes, those were my words at the end of Mirage. Ashley Suzanne knows how to
throw a curve ball and leave you completely speechless. I had to go back and
reread the last chapter TWICE to make sure I read it correctly and I am still
sitting here asking how that just happened.
Mira, Kylee, Danny and Skylar are all best friends through
college and Danny and Mira are completely in love with eachother. You can't
find a happier couple. Skylar has been Danny's best friend his whole life and
when it comes to Mira he stays in the background and watches Danny live the
life he wants with the girl he wants. When tragedy strikes this close knit
group and nearly tears Mira apart, Skylar and Kylee do what they can to keep
her moving. Skylar does his best not to let his true feelings show through for
Mira, but it isn't long before Mira falls for Skylar.
What happens when what you think is real isn't? When what
you thought was right is wrong? How does life change when everything you do and
feel for one person turns out to be the wrong person all along? When you think
you are where you are meant to be but you aren't?
Cliffhanger of all cliffhangers with the biggest twist you
will never expect. White knuckles and nail biting in the last chapter. I NEED
this rest of this story like my life depends on it. I have never been this
hungover on a book in my life. I don't feel like I can move on from this
without knowing the end. That how I know this is an amazing book that will
stick with me forever. Ashley is a very talented and amazing writer. I can't
wait to see where this story goes and what she comes up with next.

I will admit that I read Mirage twice and my reaction is still the same. WTF just happened? Did I read the right book? What!? Yes, I said that both times! Ashley Suzanne is officially the Queen of the Mind F**k. This book evoked so many different emotions, I was a complete wreck while reading it, and my mind is completely blown after reading it. Book hangover and a half!
Mira, Danny, Skylar and Kylee, are inseparable from the day they meet at college orientation. Both Danny and his best friend Skylar lay their eyes on Mira at the same time, but it is Danny who wins the girl, while Skylar loves her from a distance. Fast forward 4 years and college is coming to an end, and Danny decides to propose to the woman who holds his heart, of course he is her heart so she says yes. Life is perfect, happy, in love, engaged, graduating, and great friends, until tragedy rips it to shreds.
Mira is left to grieve and try to move on with her life, with the constant love and support from Skylar and Kylee. Eventually, life moves on of Mira, and she soon starts to feel things for Skylar, maybe she always has. Skylar has kept his feeling hidden pretty well, playing it off as love for a friend, when he has always wanted Mira for himself, but he would never hurt Danny that way. Now he has his chance, and he takes it. Soon they find themselves happy and in love.
Happily ever after? No this is where Ashley decided to throw in the mind-blowing twist, and leaving me and I can almost guarantee everyone who has read Mirage speechless. Leaving readers to try to decide what the hell just happened. I have had a book hangover since reading Mirage, and that won’t be cured until Awakening, but then again knowing the Queen of the Mind F**k she might mess with my head again.

I honestly don’t know
where to start with this review. I’m
having trouble wrapping my head around the
many emotions this book has caused me. Saying I am completely blown is an
understatement.
From the moment I picked up and started reading Mirage it
had
completely me sucked in. I finished it in one sitting and am dying for more.
All I can say is WOW this book is AMAZING. Mira and Danny meet at freshman
orientation at college. Mira and Danny become inseparable and are engaged to be
married. Then it’s time for college graduation
and a devastating tragedy hits.
Mira has to pick up the pieces of her life. Danny’s best friend Skylar and
Mira’s best friend
Kylee try to help her move on and start living again. As
Mira slowly gets over her devastating loss she starts to think it might be
possible to love again and her feelings for Skylar start to come forward. Is
Skylar the one she was supposed to be with from the beginning? Skylar has
always loved Mira from afar content to stand in the shadows just to see his
best friend Danny happy. Once Mira is ready to move on Skylar decides it’s time
to take his chance. With lots of obstacles in their path will Skylar and Mira
be able to be together or always love each other from afar? Mirage will take you
on an emotional journey from the very beginning to the unbelievable and amazing
ending. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to wait for more of this story.
Ashley Suzanne has become one of my favorite authors with just this one book. I
can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
Little bit about Inception (1.5 The Destine Series)
Danny Thomas was never the boy who got the girl. All
through high school, he
sat in the back seat and watched his best friend, Skylar McBride, in all his
crowning glory. The girls always flocked to Skylar, leaving Danny the third
wheel.
Everything changes the first
day of college, when Danny meets Mira Adam sand she completely steals his
heart. She's the only girl that ever chose Danny.
Through the ups and downs of
college, Danny and Mira's relationship blossoms into something truly beautiful.
A relationship that dreams are made of. The bond of four friends: Danny,
Skylar, Mira and Kylee is tested one fateful night when an accident changes
everything.
Inception immediately follows
the first book in the Destined Series, Mirage and showcases Danny's point of
view during those four years that almost ended the night of graduation.
To understand the full story,
you have to go back to the beginning: The Inception

If you are hoping to find out what happens from that HUGE cliffhanger
in Mirage keep hoping. If you want to find out more about Danny and Mira's
relationship you are in luck!
I went into this book with an open mind and came out torn.
Inception goes back four years and we learn a lot about Danny and Skylar's
friendship. We also get to see how Danny instantly falls for Mira. It's a great
love story and after reading Mirage I would expect nothing less. So why am I
torn? Well I like Danny, but I feel as though Mira was really in a relationship
with Skylar and Danny is just the stand in. I can't say too much without giving
things away, but pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together. My heart doesn't know if I would have chose
Danny all along. And by the end of the book I was actually pissed at him. I
didn't think that would be possible!
Make sure you read Mirage first! I'm impatiently waiting for
the next book in The Destined Series so I can get the rest of the story. I have
so many thoughts and predictions about what will happen!!
Tabby's Review
First of all let me say, I know I may be one of few people who absolutely love Danny. There is just something about him that is pure. He loves with all he has and lets his heart lead him. In Inception, you guessed it we get to hear from Danny himself, from the time he first lays his eyes on Mira to the accident and maybe alittle bit after. So, if you were hoping to find out more about what happened after that cliffhanger you won't get it here. You will however get an indepth look into the dynamic of the relationship of Mira and Danny, as well as learn more about Skylar and Kylee. Danny did piss me off however in the end of this book, like where did this negative Danny come from. Ok, I cannot go into more details without giving out spoilers about Inception and Mirage, but please before you read Inception, read Mirage.
Needless to say, I loved Inception and now I neeeeeeeeed Awakening! The Destined Series continues to get better and better, and I can't wait to see how the story continues.

If you loved reading
Mirage then you are going to love
Inception, but be sure to read Mirage first.
Ashley Suzanne knows how to write books that have me reading them in one
sitting. Inception is written in Danny’s POV and we get to learn all about his
and Mira’s relationship and how they fell in love. We also get to see how
Danny, Skylar, Mira and Kylee all interact together and become best friends.
While this book is about Danny and Mira you will get to see how Skylar reacts
and feels about Mira. You can’t help but fall in love with these characters.
The ending will once again leave you thinking what could possibly happen next.
The next book in The Destined Series can’t get here fast enough for me.
Meet Ashley Suzanne
Ashley Suzanne is a married mother
of three little boys as well as a daughter, aunt,
sister, best friend, birth mother, blogger, book whore and author. Ashley is a native to the suburbs of Detroit, with most of her family
living in Kentucky and New York.
You can usually find Ashley sitting in bed, with her laptop, playing on Facebook, pretending to write, entering giveaways (she's also a swag whore) or on a football field with her oldest son, Tyler. Yep, not only is she a football fan, she's a football mom! When she's reading, it's typically something to do with romance, erotica being her favorite genre. Ashley co-owns a blog, 2 Chicks and a Blog, with her GBFF
Manda. She's a total fan-girl over a few authors, Pamela Ann, Brooke
Cumberland, SE Hall, Madeline Sheehan, Jasinda Wilder, Angela Graham, CM Stunich and Riley Rhea to name a few. Ashley has no pets, unless you count her children and she is a little OCD. Her favorite color is pink. Her favorite drink is cherry vodka and coke and double chocolate brownies are a must.
She's currently working on her 2nd novel, Awakening, which will follow Mirage (An Amazon Best Seller) and a few other projects.
What inspired you to
write? My need to create and
think outside the box. And it wouldn’t
hurt to be able to work from home!
After this series does
you intend to write another series or standalone? I have two stand alones and another series in the brain!!
Do you enjoy leaving
your readers' hearts hanging?
I kind of do, yeah. I really think that
especially in the Indie world, there is so much other stuff to read, you have
to make a splash. I wanted people to
remember me and remember my story. I
love when I can recount a story months after I read it. I hope I did with Mirage.
What are things you
must have with you when writing? Cold can of Mountain
Dew, full pack of cigarettes, Pandora and something to snack on. Usually cupcakes or brownies. Oh, and my laptop DUH
Are any parts of your
story based on real life? A lot of Mirage as some real life mixed in,
embellished of course, but the stuff did happen. My husband is in an MC, I do visit
clubhouses, I did fall in love with my husband very young and I happen to know
where “Skylar” lives. Danny was also
real. The accident scene that Skylar
describes in therapy is very similar to the accident that actually took place.
What is your favorite
drink? Soda – Mountain Dew
.. Booze – Cotton Candy Vodka and Sprite DUH!!!
