Oh where do I start with this review. Days after reading Come To Me Softly I am still at a loss for words. This book delves into both your heart and soul and latches on, refusing to let go. I found myself utterly consumed in Aly and Jared's story.
Come To Me Softly picks up right where Come To Me Quietly left off. Jared has came back to Aly and finds himself in a situation he never expected and it scares the hell out of him. Not because it doesn't make him happy but because he still believe he doesn't deserve the happiness he has felt. He feels he deserves to be miserable and alone for all the destruction he has caused, for the lives he has ruined. He believes he ruins everything he touches and it scares him think that he will ruin Aly. So, Jared does what he does best. He bottles up his fear, sadness and anger until eventually he explodes...which he eventually does, but before we get to that lets talk about this amazing book some more because I loved it.
Jared and Aly's relationship is that powerful, all-consuming love that we all have sought or continue to seek to find. They are each others forever, but no one said forever was going to be easy. It is hard and a lot of work. Aly believes that if they work things out together and are a team nothing can stop their happiness. There is only one problem with that and that problem is Jared. Aly is the reason that he lives and breathes, she is his saving grace and his trigger all in one. Yet Jared doesn't feel that he deserves anything more than what he had before Aly came back into his life... Nothing. Aly however was hellbent of helping Jared get passed his tragic past. The path to healing is not easy for Jared. Words are said that shatter him and it takes a toll and sends him spiraling out of control.
That's all you get. I will not spoil this amazing book for you. What I can tell you is this book better yet this series will touch you heart and leave it's mark forever. Jared and Aly will consume you and leave you wanting more. I cried I don't know how many times while reading Come To Me Softly. My heart shattered, healed and shattered all over again. Jared's internal dialog was emotional and painful. I wanted to crawl into the pages and wrap him tight in my arms and tell him to be happy. Aly's strength when weaker would have broke was an inspiration. She had faith in the darkest of situations and never let go of the future she knew her and Jared were destined to have. Don't worry you get to see Aly's protective, attractive and hilarious brother Christopher as well, along with some other characters that add to the depth of the story.
If I could give Come To Me Softly a million stars I would without thinking twice. Come To Me Softly is a story of love and healing. A definite must read!
