My Review
~~I received this book in exchange for an honest review~~
This book is the modern day Sleepy Hollow. It has twists and turns in it and things that I didn't even expect. This is the first book that I have read by Stacey and it isn't going to be the last. It had a normal pace when I read it. I could put it down and come back to it, but there was always this nagging voice in the back of my head saying that I need to go and read it. It flips back and forth from present day to the past when Ichabod Crane was living. It goes into more detail that what you think you know about the story. She also writes that Ichabod has two friends that travel with him that were there when they were fighting in the war.
I liked that this book has mystery to it. Honestly, the cover is what drew me to wanting to read this book. Who doesn't like sugar skulls? This is a well written book. Stacey pushes your imagination into over drive. She wants to make sure that you are seeing what is going on, and how the characters are seeing things through their eyes. I love it!
Stacey kind of leaves it open at the end of the book. I do not know if there is going to be a sequel or not, but the way that she has written the ending, there very well could be!

About Stacy Rourke
There is nothing worse than being put on the spot and asked to talk about yourself. For me it brings back that inevitable moment in a new school when the teacher would ask me to stand up, introduce myself and tell the class something about myself. I was always worried I would blurt out something stupid that I would get teased for. Something like, “My name’s Stacey and I like pickles!” Then for the rest of the school year I’d be known as the Pickle Girl and let’s be honest, no one wants that. So to avoid such a faux pas I will simply say that I love to write. It allows me to get my crazy out just enough that I can function as a normal member of society.
