Unexpected Angel by Sloan Johnson:

Synopsis:
Tasha Skinner finally shed the baggage of a failed marriage. Now, she’s looking forward to a night of margaritas and man-bashing. Tasha’s friends have other plans, including Leather, Lace and liberation.
Dylan Caprese didn’t want to go to Marquee, but he and his friends were on a mission. They took it upon themselves to make sure things didn’t get out of hand when wannabe Doms mixed alcohol with playtime at the monthly Leather and Lace night.
From the moment he set eyes on Tasha, he knew there was something different about her. She wasn’t some bondage babe who thought she knew what it meant to be into BDSM. She was much, much worse; she was innocent and trusting. He can tell she is something precious.
When Tasha’s past threatens to destroy her, Dylan begins to realize that while their paths have never crossed, their lives most definitely have. Will he be able to save her before it’s too late?

Move over Grey there’s a new Dom in Town!

5 Sinful Stars
*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest, no spoiler review*

Tasha is an emotionally damaged, insecure woman, thanks to her husband Nick, to whom she is recently divorced from. Nick put her through so much. No, he was not physically abusive, but he was abusive in almost every other way possible. We meet Tasha when her best friend Holly and some friends are taking her out to Leather and Lace night to celebrate her divorce. Only, Leather and Lace night at the club is not what Tasha expected, suddenly she is thrown into a world of whips and bondage. While waiting for her best friend Holly, Tasha is approached in line by a tall, handsome, intimidating man named Dylan, who pegs Tasha from the start when he guesses that she has never been to a place like this before. Right then and there Dylan decides he needs to watch out for her and protect her from want to be Dominants that will seek to hurt her.

The chemistry between Tasha and Dylan about melted my kindle; there was so much delayed gratification that it left me panting (quite literally at times). The sexual tension was like a bomb, waiting and waiting for it to explode and when it did…BAM! The heat and the flames were consuming. The suspense build up, kept me guessing and kept me holding on tightly. I was completely white-knuckled at points in this novel. The supporting characters were essential to making this book flow so well; they provided so much without taking over the storyline. Tommy and Zeke brought so much to the book, but Holly don’t get me started on her (you will have to read it to figure out why).

The way Sloan Johnson writes draws you in. You feel like you are right there with the characters in the book, to the point where you feel their emotions. You will laugh with them, cry with them, and at times even scream at them. At points I was tempted to throw my kindle across the room, but if I did I would have been disappointed because I would have missed out on the rest of this amazing book.  I am so looking forward to the second book it the Isthmus Alliance, Unexpected Protector.
