Spotlight of Author L.P Dover

Forever Fae (Forever Fae #1)

Synopsis:
He leans down, lips parted, and then our lips connect ... We didn’t know that this one kiss has FOREVER changed the Land of the Fae. According to the Prophecy proclaimed many years ago, Princess Calista of the Summer Court is destined to change the Land of the Fae from the evil determined to destroy it. Her powers are phenomenal, and she secretly trains for battle with her handsome warrior friend, Merrick, who unbeknownst to her protects her heart as well, in hopes of keeping it for himself. At least, until the seductive Prince Ryder attends the Guardian Ceremony and instantly sends a fire burning through her veins and a connection so deep they both discover a love above anything imaginable. No one knows how Calista is destined to change the kingdoms, but there is one that does. He not only craves Calista’s power, but her body as well, and his goal is to steal her power, make her his Dark Queen, and take over the Land of the Fae. Will the evil succeed in claiming Calista’s soul? Or will the two men that fight for her heart save her from despair, and help her fulfill her destiny to become what she was meant to be.

My Spoiler Free Review:
First off let me say...WOW! The magic was dripping off the pages. L.P Dover created this wonderfully detailed magical world of the fae, that I have not seen in some time, if at all. I read this magical book in one sitting( who needs sleep, right?) and was completed vested in these characters. At times I was laughing, crying, lusting and even growling while reading this book. Yes, it is a romance, but that is not all it is. It is a battle of good verses evil, a battle over Calista's heart and so much more. A definite must read, even if you are not completely into fae books.

Betrayal of Spring  (Forever Fae #2)
Synopsis:
The smell of rain vastly approaches as we are lying on the ground in a sea of flowers. They surround our bodies while the fresh Spring wind caresses our skin with its soft, gentle touch. Combined as one, we stare into each other’s eyes as we bask in the pleasure of our love and OUR land.

The Land of the Fae has flourished bringing a new beginning and a new court, the Fall Court. Five years have passed since then along with the dreaded day that Meliantha, Summer Court Princess and one of the powerful Four, was betrayed and broken-hearted by the sexy and alluring Winter Prince, Kalen. Spurned by the man she loves, Meliantha has turned and fallen into the arms of the fierce and handsome warrior, Finn, who understands she can never love him, but wants more than anything to mend her broken heart.
The Winter Solstice Ball is approaching, meaning Meliantha will have to face the Winter Prince and make it out of there with her heart intact. But what does she do when Prince Kalen acts as if nothing ever happened and seems more in love with her than ever before?

The dark sorcerer has planned his twisted game of lies and deceit well, and has enjoyed making himself a player without anyone’s knowledge. The game is almost over and the players are exactly where they are needed to be. Will Meliantha figure out his twisted game and save all the players? Or will the dark sorcerer once again obtain the power of the Four and take everything away from her…..even her one true love?

My Spoiler Free Review:
L.P Dover does it again. I proclaim her the Queen of Fae writing. I could not wait for Betrayals of Spring to be released because I loved Forever Fae. Let me tell you this, Betrayals of Spring did not disappoint.

Once again I was sucked back into to the beautiful, magical world of fae, this time the story revolves around Meliantha. Meliantha is the sister of Calista and princess of the Summer Court. I love Meliantha, she is strong, and yet she has a heart, unfortunately her heart has been broken by a person she never thought would let her down. Even with this heartache she did not break, she stayed strong and persevered.
Kalen prince of the Winter Court and Meliantha were destined to be together. However, little to they know evil black magic is keeping them apart. Will love prevail or will the dark sorcerer win and once again take control of the four powers and take over the land of fae? You will have to read it yourself to find out what happens.

Summer of Frost (Forever Fae #3)
Synopsis:
The Land of the Fae is strong with all four courts banded as one, but uncertainty still remains as they all work together to end the dark sorcerer’s evil reign. Sorcha—the one and only Winter Court princess—has a secret, a secret that she has enjoyed keeping for the past six months. When a much awaited announcement brings her to the Spring Court, and face to face with the man in her dreams, will she be strong enough to keep up the façade of her icy exterior, or will she melt into his arms like she does in her dreams?

After formally meeting Sorcha at the Winter Ball, Drake—Summer Court prince and army leader—knew there was a fiery passion underneath her winter skin, a passion he wanted desperately to ignite with his own. However, with her frigid responses toward him he’s decided to keep his distance, except how can he when his dreams feel real? Seeing her again only ignites his interest, and this time he’s not going to let his arrogance or her frosty heart stand in his way.

Through unexpected tragedy, Sorcha discovers the one thing the dark sorcerer has spent his whole existence trying to protect, but what makes it more difficult is that only one of the Four is strong enough to retrieve it. The tides have now changed. With Drake’s help, will Sorcha find what she’s searching for? Or will the dark sorcerer beat them to it, shattering all hope of finding out the one thing that could save the Land of the Fae … how to destroy him?

My Spoiler Free Review:
I beyond love  this series of books. I read each one and think, "Ok, this is my favorite", then then next one comes out and blows the others out of the water. At the moment Summer of Frost is my favorite in the series, of course that is probably until the next book in the series is released. L.P Dover has once again claimed the gold medal in Fae writing. Her descriptive writing, make the World of Fae so easy to see in my mind, it's like I am there. The characters again leap of the page and are so life-like they feel real. You can feel their emotions, if they are upset, you are upset, if they are happy, you are happy.
Summer of Frost follows Sorcha a princess of the Winter Court. Sorcha has the power to dream walk, meaning she can literally walk into you dreams. Kind of makes you see "see you in a dreams" in a whole new light doesn't it? Sorcha meets Drake, dragon shifting prince of the Summer Court at the Winter Solstice Ball. After the Winter Solstice Ball Sorcha starts going into Drake's dreams, which he thinks are just dreams.

Sorcha's ex-lover Alston is hellbent on getting her back and will stop at nothing to get what he wants, even if that means requesting help from a evil sorcerer to do so. The evil sorcerer and Alston, kidnap Sorcha and give her a potion that causes her to forget everything after the Winter Solstice Ball, even Drake. Alston then takes Sorcha to the mortal world where her guardian Odin cannot find her.
There are a lot of questions you will begging to be answered in Summer of Frost. Will Drake figure out that his dreams of Sorcha are more real than he thinks? What will he do when he figures it out? Will Drake and Odin be able to rescue Sorcha? Will it be too late to save her memory? Will they finally rid the World of Fae of the evil sorcerer for good?
Do you want to know the answers to these questions? If you do go grab your copy of Summer of Frost and find out for yourself.

Love's Second Chance
Synopsis:
Korinne Anders had it all. She had the perfect job, the perfect house, and the perfect husband. When tragedy strikes, her world takes a devastating turn. Six months after losing her husband to a car accident, Korinne vows it to herself never to love again. If she doesn’t allow another man in her heart, then there’s no reason for her to feel the pain of loss. This plan seems to work, but is put to the test when Korinne’s best friend can’t stand to see her suffering any longer.
Korinne’s long-time friend, Jenna Perry, has an idea and it involves helping her friend find the spark of life in her soul no matter what it takes. Korinne didn’t know that Jenna’s plan meant bringing back a past love, a second chance with the man that Korinne had to leave in college, but always kept a place for in her heart.
When Galen Matthews learns of Korinne’s loss and that she’s finally moved back home, he wants nothing more than to be there for her. The love he felt for Korinne years ago has never left him, and now he’s given a second chance to not only mend her heart of her loss, but to also continue the love they shared in the past. Will his love and determination make her strong enough to give fate a second chance, or will her fear of losing another love make her run away?
What will Korinne do when she’s faced with a love so powerful that no matter what she does there’s nowhere to run from it?

My Spoiler Free Review:
From the world of Fae to breaking my heart and putting it back together, L.P Dover transitioned seamlessly. The raw emotion and turmoil in Love's Second Chance, shook me to my core. I was sobbing and in full on ugly cry mode. What is ugly cry mode you ask? Well, it is when you cry and your body shakes, tears flow like Niagara Falls, snot runs and you make ugly crying faces that you think only exist in the movies. That is what happened to me while reading this book.

Korinne has the perfect life, one that many would envy. That is until her perfect world shatters the moment her husband is tragically killed in a car accident. Right then and there she decides she will never love again, her heart will never belong to another.

After the accident that kills her husband Carson, Korinne retreats to her parents house for six months. Finally deciding that she needs to return to her new life Korinne goes home. That is where fate steps in and she runs into Galen. Galen is her college love, who Korinne hurt badly when she had to leave him when she transfered to another college. Galen has never fully gotten over Korinne, he still loves her and compares any woman he is with to her.

Galen and Korinne reconnet, but the road back to their love isn't easy. Korrine is still grieving the loss of her husband, and Galen understands. He doesn't rush her into anything. Galen isn't jealous or spiteful when it comes Korinne's love for Carson, he gets it. Galen only hopes there is room in her heart for him too. Galen wants to help her face her past and for them to move forward with their lives, together. Galen is definitely a prince, one that every girl dreams of, sexy, kind, caring, understand, giving and so much more. Who said, "nice guys finish last"? That is so not the case with Galen.

Words cannot explain how much I loved Love's Second Chance. It had everything I could ever want in a book and so much more. I wouldn't mind more from Korinne and Galen.

My Spoiler Free Review:
I am going to keep this review short, and sweet because there is no way to describe the content of Love, Lies, and Deception without giving too much away. If you want to know you will have to read it yourself.

L.P Dover had me a mess in this book, at times I was trying to figure out which was was up (in a good way that is). The characters, I loved them all...at first at least, I ended up hating Justin. It has one of the biggest twists, I have EVER read! I didn't see it coming and found myself reading back to see where I missed it. I was on the edge of my seat, and completely white-knuckled while reading this. I wanted things to workout with Marissa and Alec and for the threats to stop. Did that happen? Read it to see :)

In the end all I can say is WOW! I absolutely loved Love. Lies, and Deception. I hope and pray that L.P Dover continues the story of these wonderful characters. Trust me, you want to read this book, and then re-read it a few times. So, go buy it, paperback, Kindle, Nook, or any other way you can. You will not be disappointed, until you realize it is over and you want more.
