I knew coming into this book that it was going to be full of witty one-liners and be a sweltering inferno of pure heat because let’s face it the Hollis’ know how to bring the heat, but what I didn’t expect is the rollercoaster of emotions, I would feel from the very beginning.
Magnolia… where do I start? I think she might be up there with some of my favorite female main characters of all time. She’s an independent, confident, firecracker, a ball-buster, and she will make you laugh so hard you will pee yourself, most of all she’s a hot mess, with a heart of gold. She didn’t have the best life growing up and let's face it her history with men was questionable, to say the least. She didn’t believe she was worth more than what she was used to, but Tripp Hollis wouldn’t let that happen any longer.
I thought I was an Ayden girl, then I was all about Daddy Fisher but Tripp Hollis has my heart! He is what every girl should want in a man. Someone who is possessive, attentive, and unselfish but so passionate that you turn into nothing but a puddle of pure love anytime he opens his mouth. The Tripp, I thought I knew, changed so many times during the story that he consumed every part of my heart. I woke my daughter who was sleeping next to me sick with the flu because I was laughing so hard at his pregnancy facts talk.
Watching these two weave their own perfect love story was fascinating. It’s not like they just met, no, they grew up together and fought their feelings for so long, by the time they admitted to each other that they did, they engulfed in flames so delicious that you kept turning the pages to see what would happen next. Love isn’t easy, and they sure as hell had roadblocks, and that’s putting it lightly.
