Kate has been through more than her share of tragedies in her life. After
suffering the loss of her mother, daughter, and the love of her life, she’s finally found the strength to
open herself up to love again. For once, everything is finally as it should be. Kate should’ve known that
things were too good to be true; her life doesn’t work that smoothly.
It’s been four years since Michael left Kate, but he’s back now,
and determined to win Kate’s heart once again. After discovering that Daniel and Michael are best
friends, the situation spirals out of control quickly. Instead of dealing with her broken heart, Kate
ignores it.
When Kate’s actions drive her to do
the unthinkable, she knows she’s crossed the line. Unfortunately, she doesn’t realize it until it’s too
little, too late. Her actions have consequences and now she’s trying to fix the unfixable. Can the men in
Kate’s life grant her the forgiveness she can’t even find within herself?
I try and push away from him but he presses me
up against the wall with force. Not a harmful force, it’s an erotic force, and I wish it didn’t turn me on so
much.
The glimmer I see in his eyes is new, and I have no
clue what it means, but he looks ready for a challenge. Whatever the look is, it’s hot and it’s taking all
my self-control not to throw my arms around his neck and wrap my legs around his waist for a repeat of
what we did last time he had me up against this wall.
“This is going to be a fight, Kate, our first,
but most definitely not our last. I fight for what's mine. And you,
baby, you're mine. You have been from the minute your eager lips pressed against mine
and you granted me access into that fucking perfect little mouth of yours. So go ahead and be the good
girl, play the martyr. Eventually, you'll figure out Mike comes in second but
I'll always be first. You want to pretend this is about us all staying friends? Go ahead.
All this really is about is you not being able to hurt him, even though
that's exactly what he did to you. So if you really want to play this way, then GAME
ON. I won't be easy on you and I'm going to love watching you try to resist what you crave and what you
craveis me. Come on, baby. Tell me you aren't wet right fucking now,
Kate. Tell me you aren't thinking about my cock being buried so deep inside you that you’ll forget
exactly why you're fighting us. I know just from the way your breath is hitching all you want right now
is me. This is going to be so much fun, baby. I’ve always thought a challenge makes the end
result even sweeter so… GAME FUCKING ON.”
I’ve forgotten how to breathe. That was the hottest thing I’ve ever heard. He
told me from the beginning he fights for what he wants. I’ve only seen Daniel’s sweet side, his romantic
side, his wooing side. I’ve never seen his possessive side, his alpha side, well, never outside of the
bedroom.
Wow! D. Kelly has once again left me lost for words. I go into her books expect emotion and lots of it, but Releasing Kate was heart wrenching and had me in tears multiple times. The story line kept me hooked from start to finish and left me wanting more (in a good way). This series is a must read. So if you haven't read the previous books in the series I highly recommend it. If you were waiting to see reviews before you decide if you want to read it, trust me you want to read this!
Yes, I know this review is as vague as they come but there is just too much to spoil by giving away any details.

I'm a wife, a mom and a dog lover. I'm also a taxi,
problem fixer, extreme multi-tasker and my kids biggest fan in anything that they do. I love to write, so
when my career suddenly derailed I turned back to my love of writing. I married my high school
sweetheart... how cool is that? Margaritas and sarcasm make me happy. Chocolate makes that
happiness grow exponentially. People who make me laugh are my favorite kind of people. I believe
Karma is a bitch who slaps back hard and that mean people suck. I'm California born and raised, I love
the beach but hate the sand. The Acceptance Series is my first series with more books to come
soon.
