Talk about a cliffhanger! J. Bailes knows how to keep you on your toes and wanting more. My emotions were all out of whack by the end of this book. I was angry, sad and joyful. When you are crying before the end of the first chapter that is a sign of a great book!

When you least expect it, Wyatt reappears read to get Allie back in his arms, but she isn't going to let him in that easily. My heart stopped and now I am stuck wondering what will happen. I can't wait for book two.

Amazing, Amazing debut novel. Loved every page of this book. It had me crying from the very beginning and eagerly anticipating book 2. J.Bailes is a fantastic author that can get all your emotions going.
Allie has been through so much heartache and pain in her life that she is just trying to live her life the best she can. She has lost her father to cancer, her brother dies in Iraq and her boyfriend Wyatt just leaves her and disappears. If it wasn't for her best friends she wouldn't be able to through her days.
Blake, one of Allie’s best friends, helps her pick up the pieces of her life. After one night of drinking their relationship changes. Blake has always had feelings for Allie and he knows he has to go slow with her. Maybe he can be the one to put her heart back together. Just when you think everything is going to work out with and Allie will get her happy ever after with Blake, Wyatt shows back up. He has a huge secret and it’s the reason he disappeared from her life. Wyatt knows she is with Blake and he doesn’t plan on giving her up. He wants back in her life and everything to go back to the way it used to be. Now you have to decide if you are team Blake or team Wyatt. I want to say I am team Blake but can’t wait to see what happens with Wyatt.
The ending of this book just about killed me. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Walking away from her was the hardest decision I ever made. Leaving her without an explanation broke us both. Our hearts have been left shattered. I could make excuses. I could lay the blame on others, but still I made the decision. I had to. It was the only way to protect the both of them.
After all of Allie’s loss, my thought was only on her and her happiness. On her love and need for her big brother. I was replaceable, Kyle wasn’t. I wouldn’t allow him to crush her heart with his death. I knew I had to follow him. I would throw myself on top of bombs, in front of bullets, whatever it took to get him home to her, alive. There are two sides to every story, and you’ve only heard one. Don’t be so quick to judge; I hate myself for what I’ve done. But all that I did, it was all for Allie.

I love the Shaken series by J. Bailes and book one, Shattered & Shaken, left us with a huge cliff hanger wanting more. If you were expecting answers we have to wait until Shattered & Mended is released. This novella is short and sweet. We get to hear Wyatt's side of the story and see how strong his feelings for Allie are. I went into this Team Blake, was furious with Wyatt for just up and leaving Allie. You don't just up and leave the love of your life right?! While I am still Team Blake, my heart broke for Wyatt listening how hard it was for him to leave and then having to watch is best friend die. Can't wait to see what happens in Shattered and Mended and who Allie picks!! I know Wyatt will not be going down without a fight.
